    The Serie A is the highest professional Italian league for football, which was founded in 1929. The league size is 20 teams and 529 players, from which 303 of them are foreign players (57.3%) and the average age is 26,9 years. The league is ranked by UEFA in the 4th position with 73.332 points and the total market value rise to 2.88 billion euros.
    The most successful clubs of Seria A are:

    Juventus has won also the most championships (33), followed by AC Milan with 18 titles and Inter Milan again with 18.
    The most successful goal scorer of the league is Silvio Piola with 274, second is Francesco Totti with 250 goals, third is Gunnar Nordahl with 225, fourth Jose Altafini and Giuseppe Meazza, both with 216 goals and fifth is Antonio Di Natale with 209 goals. The top 5 record players is Paolo Maldini at the top of the list with 647 matches, second is Gianluigi Buffon with 619 matches, third is Francesco Totti with 618 matches, forth is Javier Zanetti with 615 appearances and fifth is Gianluca Pagliuca with 592 matches. The most successful coaches are Giovanni Trapattoni, Nils Liedholm, Carlo Mazzone and Fabio Capello.
    The biggest victory recorded was Torino FC 10:0 US Alessandria 1912 (May 9, 1948) and the game with most goals was AC Milan 9:3 Atalanta (October 15, 1972).
    The biggest stadium is San Siro – Giuseppe Meazza (AC Milan – Inter Milan) with 80.018 seats and second biggest is Olimpico di Roma (AS Roma – Lazio) with 73.261 seats. The match with the highest number of spectators was AC Milan 2:0 Juventus counting 83.921 spectators (December 30, 1990). On the other hand the match with the lowest attendance was Cagliari 4:3 Torino reaching 100 spectators (February 24, 2013).
    Lastly, the most expensive transfer was Paul Pogba from Juventus to Manchester United with 105 million euros, the second most expensive was Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli to Juventus with 90 million euros, third is Zinedine Zidane from Juventus to Real Madrid costing 73.5 million euros, the fourth was Hernan Crespo from Parma to Lazio with 55 million euros and fifth most expensive was Christian Vieri from Lazio to Inter, a transfer move that cost 45 million euros.
