Judo is a sport that requires strength, concentration, coordination, quick thinking, and reaction.
It’s a sport where you train a year and you can win or lose a competition in a matter of seconds.
Adrian Şulca is a 17-year-old who has made many sacrifices from a very young age to reach the highest stage of the Olympic podium, the gold medal. He must be a model for the young generation, managing to have exceptional results and honor Romania abroad.
He wakes up at 5 o’clock in the morning, 5 days a week, to train and he then even goes to school – so it’s very clear how dedicated Adrian is to his talent.
Adrian started practicing the 8-year-old sport in Calafat, Romania.
When he first entered the Judo hall, he was fascinated; everything seemed very spectacular and new, from the equipment to the training and the rules.
Since the first official competition, he has shown he wants to become the absolute champion of this sport, winning the gold medal at a Hungarian competition.
The coaches Florin Bercean, and later Denis Mititelu, helped him to improve his technique and tactics, motivated him and sustained his personal and sporting life on his way to glory.
The first major titles in his career were the bronze medals at the European Cadet Championship in Sarajevo in 2018, both individually and with the team.
Adrian Şulca became Junior Olympic Champion at Buenos Aires 2018 after winning the gold medal. He has become one of the fastest winners in history, managing a ippon in 15 seconds, shocking the audience.
Adrian Şulca has 4 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 4 bronze medals – he wants to win medals at the Olympics for seniors in the future.
